If you are looking for an intelligent rechargeable battery charger the Multi Usage+ Smart Rechargeable Charger from Uniross is exactly what you need. I have two 2700mAh Uniross batteries which weren’t holding their charge for more than 2 hours. It turns out it was our (few years old) Canon charger that came with our camera as using this charger the batteries held their charge for much longer.
2100mAH = 3 hour charge
2700mAh = 4.5 hour charge
Overall a good purchase at a great price.

This provides a well priced way to add some hybrid batteries to your pool of rechargreables (and let’s face, normal rechargeables are no good at being stored for a rainy day) and also gives you a decent 4xAA/AAA recharger that has both a mains lead and a car charger lead. This also means it can be plugged into more places as the charging unit is separate from the plus which I find more convenient.
The charger is also a ‘fast’ charger which is nice!

Charges 2 or 4 batteries at a time. Charges either AA or AAA batteries but not a mix at the same time.
Shows a red light if not charged.
Shows a green light when charged.
Flashes a red light if there is a problem with the batteries.
It stops charging when the batteries are charged, so you don’t have to remember to turn it off a few hours after starting. If it indicated when the batteries would be charged as well, I would give it 5 stars.

Good charger at a good price. There is however one small limitation. Batteries can only be charged in pairs (either 2 or 4 at a time). However, in real life this is not really much of a problem. This aside, I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

Having researched chargers, this seemed most useful and value for money. Batteries included, has fairly quick charge time (but not too quick, which can cause problems), LED indicators and being able to use in car is a little bonus though not sure if it will get used?! My previous Uniross lasted a couple of years, and from other reviews they don’t seem to be the most durable. However, I think over that time I probably still saved compared to using normal batteries (not scientifically proven though!). The older one did not have LED indicator so you were never sure when charging was complete. Now with the indicator it should prevent both batteries and the charger getting over cooked! If this one lasts longer I’ll up it to 5 stars. As I say, time will tell!
