Firstly I should warn you that the subtitles for this film are diabolical, with a ridiculous amount of typos, also in some of the blue tinted night scenes when the characters are moving quickly they become tinged with a red outline/blur.

This film has caused some controversy amongst Rollin fans, some liking it and some not, so if you have never seen any of his films before do not start with this. The story is basically about two orphan girls who are adopted from the nuns who look after them and taken to live with an eye specialist. The two girls are blind by day and everyone looks upon them as a couple of angels, however come night time they can see albeit in blue and are vampires. The orphans don’t know where they originaly come from but they know that they have lived before, leading to them making up pasts for themselves. With a lot of dialogue this is quite slow moving, interspersed with their thirst for blood and some weird characters that they meet.

There is some brief nudity in this film, but really you shouldn’t buy it for that, there isn’t enough to warrant it. There is some brilliant macabre black humour when the two orphans decide to kill the doctor they are with, they have to think up a way without giving away what they are. On a deeper level you could argue that this shows the way that even surrounded in cities by people we can be lonely, and how so many of us have insecurities, but a lot of people will possibly find this all a bit boring. This once again shows what can be done with little or no budget to talk of.
