This is supposedly a remake/reimagining of Sisters, a 1970’s American horror directed by Brian De Palma. As I havent seen that film, I cannot comment on any comparisons that this film has with the earlier good twin/bad twin film.
What I can say is this is an interesting low budget British/German co-production starring an actress I was unaware of until now called Fiona Horsey. She certainly gives a great performance in dual roles as Jennifer, the good, successful twin and Norah, the damaged murderous one.
This is certainly a horror film strictly for adults only, as the first few moments set the tone, with a strong sex scene followed by a graphic, bloody castration.
The film certainly continues to grab the attention, mainly due to Horsey’s terrific performance, and it also makes good use of its limited budget. The climax of the film, when the two twins meet for the first time, also builds up quite a lot of suspense.
So, don’t watch if your easily offended, but if your a jaded horror film watcher like me, you should definately make the effort to purchase this. 4 out of 5 (one of these stars for Fiona Horsey’s performance)
Rating: 4 / 5
