The TP7 Telephone Pickup is a simple concept – it’s a microphone you stick in your ear…
Hold the telephone earpiece against the mic and hit Record on your attached recorder.
Both sides of the conversation are recorded.
Audio quality is very good with no hum or buzz and a bright clear sound.
It works better than other telephone recording methods I have used (stick-ons, inline adaptors etc.).
The only thing better is a professional Telephone Hybrid with balanced output. Lots of bucks though…
There is a small amount of breakthrough when recording mobile phones – the ‘chiddup-chiddup’ can break through…
This may be due to the plastic-cased dictation recorder (Olympus WS-321M) I was using.
Shop around to get a good price – it varies a lot.
