Does what it says on the box, even better, it supports NTSC.,
 Â
For its price it is good. The DVD worked fine and the USB works with JPG pics and AVI/DIVX movies. There is an LED display on the front which shows you how long you have watched the DVD. The hack mentioned by Duncan converts it to multi-regional. The remote could be larger and more ergonomical. I am thinking of buying a second one for my other TV. I did not need to read the very small manual. It does not support HDMI, so use a SCART instead (not supplied). It has a magnify function, which I found very usefull when viewing films on my old 4:3 TV (i.e. good for your dad or Grandma). It also supports the American NTSC system as well as PAL, so you can play American DVDs once you have made it multi-regional, which makes it great value for money.
NB. You have to enter the standard Toshiba hack to make it multi-region; use remote to open the tray; enter 98790 and there you are (then it will play your USA DVDs).
The weakest link, will be the DVD tray, it is mechanical, could last 1, 2 or 3 years…
Endnote (Dec 2011): After over a year of owning this DVD player it is still working fine. I am buying this player for my mum for Christmas, she is now 80, so she can play my James Garner DVDs.

This is the one you want,
 Â
The first review was so glowing i wondered if it had been written by the seller!
What a relief, i just tested 3 different region DVDs in it and everything plays, so if you want a multi that really IS a multi that you don’t have to mess about with this is it.

Another satisfied customer,
 Â
I bought this to play my region 1 and 2 DVD’s, which play with no problems. Picture quality is also good. As well as being multi-region, the player also accepts DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW discs. The mains lead is 41 inches (104 cms) long approx. The remote comes with batteries.
