This is the third Toshiba laptop I have owned and as with the earlier models the build quality is superb.

I’ve been using the Tosh for a week and am extremely impressed by the Truebrite 17″ screen which gives stunning images when watching videos.

Getting used to Windows 7 is proving a challenge as I moved from Windows XP and find so many things are done differently, but the longer I work with the laptop the more familiar I become with the Windows 7 ‘quirkiness’ and it is stunningly fast operation.

As appears to be common practice nowadays there is a bundle of “trial” software loaded onto the laptop and I dislike this practice as it, to me, seems to be a very underhand way of getting people to buy software that they might like, but for which they could get a better deal elsewhere.

There are some good built in programmes provided by Toshiba which amongst many other things automatically provide updates of the BIOS and other operation systems – something that in the past has generally necessitated hunting the web.

At first glance I was taken aback by just how much bigger and heavier the laptop is compared to my earlier Satellite Pro 15″ but I guess that the majority of users will, like me, be using it almost permanently at home and in one location so this doesn’t really create any problems – but, in my opinion, it’s not a ‘pick up and go’ device and certainly not a ‘netbook’.

For what it offers it’s really exceptional value and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I have a few minor niggles – all the USB ports are mounted on the sides close to the front edge. In my opinion this is a bad idea, especially as a USB cable plugged into the right hand slot port effectively blocks the DVD drive. Why Toshiba abandoned putting the USB ports along the rear I shall never understand.

The ultra shiny external finish is an absolute magnet for dust – I swear that if someone shakes a towel or blanket within a hundred feet the dust manages to find its way to the computer surfaces. It’s exceptionally easily cleaned with a soft cloth.

All in all it is a great laptop and I believe it would be very difficult to match it on price with any other manufacturers similar specification machine – I know I couldn’t, the Amazon price was the best I could find (no surprises there) and anything similar by another manufacturer cost quite a lot more.

You can’t go wrong with Toshiba. I bought this to replace my old Acer laptop, and there is no comparison. The Toshiba has a full size keyboard with its own number pad, which I find very useful. It has an audible alarm to tell you if your laptop is about to run out of battery power. The 17″ screen is amazing too.So clear and vibrant, ideal for looking at your photos or watching a DVD on. I’ve given it 5 stars, but would happily have given much more. The only one thing that I am unsure about is the Windows 7. I am still getting to grips with it. Unfortunately much of the software that I have doesn’t work with W7, and as such I am having to buy the software all over again (more up to date versions. What ever happened to online updates)?. Plus there are things like BBCi that I can no longer download from as the software is not compatible. I can, assuming my download speed is ok, watch streamline. But that isn’t very often. However that has nothing to do with the laptop, just the software.

This laptop is very well made the case is strong not flimsy like many other sub £400 laptops the big plus is the excellent quality 17″ screen nice vivid colours perfect image quality for watching movies the in built speakers are pretty good too .

Toshiba Satellite L350-262 17 inch Notebook battery life lasts 2.30 mins max this is pretty much standard for a 17″ laptop if you compare it to Sony VAIO VGN-AR71J 17″ Notebook, battery lasts 1.30mins max before it needs charging obviously if you are watching DVDs the battery life will not last as long ,just like to point that out as another reviewer left a negative review based solely battery life .

This has been an entirely satisfactory user experience.

Having ordered the Toshiba Satellite L350-262 laptop on Monday evening, the shipment arrived on Saturday morning the same week, even without selecting ‘express delivery’.

The Tosh was on the network, configured and up and running within the hour, and so far has performed flawlessly.

The layout and screen display is superb and although slightly underpowered given the Celeron 1.8.Gz processor has performed entirely satisfactory, probably helped by the pre-installed Win7 Home Edition.

For the average laptop user this is an excellent choice.

Presentable pc and nice wide screen clear as a bell. But its a Celeron so slow. I am not a speed freak so can handle but if any one has been used to something differnet then a celeron processor is slow. This can be altered by addition memeory. The Price I paid is all I could afford. This means I did get a hell of a lot of PC for that price and a big screen. Plus its Toshiba which beats all the other rubbish out there. Toshinba are also excellent at suport with no arguement. Toshiba at the time were offering a 3yrs extended waranty for onlyn £53. Thats well below half of other makes meaning Toshiba dont go wrong.
