Unfortunately, I purchased the safety camera update from Tom Tom directly and paid full price. Wish I had found this pre-paid card first and saved a bit of money. Worse than that, having got the ‘latest’ safety camera database from Tom Tom, it is very out of date. There are cameras reported where there haven’t been any for several months (old roadworks) and cameras missing usually due to new roadworks. It seems Tom Tom can take ages to register safety camera changes.

I have just purchased the latest tom tom IQ and paid £19.99 for the camera database and i am constantly complaining to Tom Tom that every motorway journey i am taking there is at least 10-15 cameras that have either been moved or new ones appear that dont show up, I am constantly updating tom tom with this information and still the database is out of date
I feel this is a disgrace as you pay to be warned of camera locations so you keep within the law and tom tom is failing badly on this service and the most frustrating thing is when you contact Tom tom you get a response offering a tutorial on how to use the tom tom so they are not prepared to listern that the service is poor and unrealiable and there is no point in paying for a service that only gives you half the information as you tend to stop looking for the cameras and trust tom tom to be your ears and eyes and this is a big mistake as they are failing to offer an up to date service which could cost you points on your licence, We all know that you should never speed and these services are not ways around the law but when you do long journeys your speed fluctuates a little and a speed camera warning gives you a nudge to check your speed and keep within the given prematers also if you have notice speed limits are all over the place on the motorways and camera warnings are good notifications of the current limit when they work, so get your finger out Tom Tom and offer us a better service

It does what it says on the tin. I dont know how up to date it is though but the route I drive is now active where as before it was’nt.
