I bought this for taking on holiday to Italy. However it promptly fell off the window and fell apart as I tried to navigate the streets of Rome in a hired car. My wife had to hold it in her hand for the remainder of the (long) journey until I could retrieve the lost spring and put it back together. It fell off on a couple of other occasions but none were as dramatic.
The satnav maps are good but not perfect. We found slight errors on most of our journeys in Italy (one way streets not always recorded, incorrect speed limits and a few POIs were a few hundred metres out).
Despite the above complaints we found it very useful on holiday and would have been lost without it.

This product is brilliant. I would not now be without it. One of the best features is the way you can attach it to the window and it doesn’t fall off! The other brilliant feature is the lane indicator. For me it is now a must have.

I love my TomTom – Easy to use, I had TomTom One before with the old type of mounting cradle you had to attach and without the IQ routes so I knew when I purchased this one what I was getting – there’s not much difference with this version. I bought this Pearl as it appealed to my girlie girl nature and because I love the new suction on the back which means less to carry around and I have never felt safer or more confident to go places never been before – it does get a bit annoying when I can’t choose motorways ONLY instead of detouring off the motorway to A roads before you need to, doesn’t always find quickest route, can take too long to show route from UK to Europe so have to do it in stages, but I can’t fault it other than that, I’ve always gotten to the place I was intending to go. TomTom home is great as can update my maps whenever and download further items should I wish. Postcode facility is spot on, good clear and timely instructions for direction changes ‘Speaker’ is very good , not ‘tinny’ as on some of the other models, Decent choice of instruction ‘guest voices’ for free. Overall this SatNav is a great device, I’m extremely happy with it and I wouldn’t leave home on a long journey without it.

This is my first ever GPS and it looks really nice and girly. I customized it on the website which makes it unique but you can do that with any tom tom. I watched the demonstration on a shopping channel for the white pearl which is what got me interested, but I bought it from Amazon cheaper. I was very dissapointed though with the special features of ‘shop till you drop’ and ‘places to be seen’ etc, as it doesn’t give accurate information for the area in which you search, so if your going somewhere new, and want to use this, forget it! It shows my local police station in the ‘help’ menu, which is in fact an old pub and no where near the actual police station, so again if I were somewhere unknown and needed to find this, how do I know it is correct. These were the reasons I bought the white pearl as it’s supposed to be ‘girl friendly’. It does look good and is small and neat, and for general sat navving is ok but I bought it for the special extras, and these aren’t what they say they are!

I have been considering purchasing a Sat Nav for some time but when I saw this one advertised – neat, compact and feminine – there was no contest. It sits beautifully in the corner of my windscreen, unobstrusive but easy to read. I have listened to other Sat Navs that seem to ‘freak’ out when you don’t follow instructions but this one doesn’t and to me that is very important.
My White Pearl TomTom has been much admired especially by girlfriends. It was advertised for the feminine market and it ‘hits’ the spot. It is small enough to pop in my handbag so there is no tempation to leave it in the car when not in use.
