Made with a traditional Mason Jar and high tech energy efficient lighting! Captured inside the jar are a highly efficient solar cell rechargeable battery and low energy LED lamp. When the jar is placed in sunlight the solar cell creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. This energy is then used at night to power the LED lamp inside the jar. The light emitted is diffused by the frosted jar and gives the appearance of sunlight. (A warm – coloured LED light is used to give a more natural light). You may have noticed that there is no switch on the Sun Jar – in fact there are no visible controls at all. A light sensor inside the jar automatically activates the lights when it gets dark (or the lights are turned out!)
Price : £ 14.99

So you’ve flown our other RC helicopters stormed the odd makeshift cardboard box base and have managed to get the theme tune from ‘Airwolf’ out of your head – what’s next? Voice Control that’s what! This ingenious Voice Control Helicopter responds to your commands and has five of them loaded in ready to obey your every aviation whim (though when we tried it out it didn’t seem to understand pop into the kitchen and grab me a Hobnob.). Simply pop the microphone set over your bonce (it looks a bit like a bluetooth headset) and get jabbering! You can command your heli-servant to: ‘start its engines’ ‘go higher and lower’ ‘to hold’ and ‘to stop’ once you’ve landed. Saying ‘stop’ in mid-air is not recommended unless you’ve got a very soft head and few pain receptors. Combined with that you can use the remote control to turn left and right and the in-built forward motion will make sure it’s headed in the right direction. From a self-preservation point of view there’s also a ceiling sensor that ensures you don’t have to avoid a falling helicopter as well. To top it all off there’s some cool LED lights and charging it up is super-easy via the handset. For any European friends you might have the helicopter will also understand commands in French or Spanish – clever eh? In short the Voice Control Helicopter is one of the most innovative helicopters at IWOOT addictive and extremely clever.
Price : £ 39.99
