Tea bags are all well and good but if you’re after a truly great cuppa then you need leaves. And once you’ve realised that you need a seriously cool way of infusing it and there’s no cooler way to do it than with this retro Tea Sub. This Beatles-esque slice of sub-aquatic splendour not only makes your tea much tastier it also gives your brew a nice sixties vibe as well. It’s small enough to go in your mug and it has a nice chain-link cord to help you bob it about under the surface to ensure full infusion. There’s also a neat little swing door so you can actually get your leaves in there in the first place. All in all it’s a super little mug-bound day-brightener perfect for tea fanatics and Beatles fans alike.

There is nothing absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Until you drop your keys overboard then it all becomes a bit of a chore. Next time attach the Waterbuoy and within seconds of hitting the water environmentally friendly gas will automatically inflate the reinforced rubber balloon to save your keys from being lost in the gloomy depths. You don’t have to stop at keys either – clip the Waterbuoy to any item weighing up to 1kg and it will happily float on the water for 24 hours. If you’re going to drop something in the river chances are you’ll do it in the dark (it’s the law of the sod – or something like that) which is why the crafty inventors have included a blinking LED light in just the right place to make your floating gizmo visible from up to 250m away. This makes the Waterbuoy the world’s first and only miniature floatation device that’s visible at night. So if you simply love messing about on the river or fancy a life on the ocean waves make sure you keep plenty of these handy gadgets onboard (they’re one use only – but hopefully you’ll have learnt your lesson the first few times you drop your keys overboard). The next time your keys go overboard you won’t have to waste money on a submarine if you’ve remembered to attach the Waterbuoy.

Much like our 6 in 1 Solar Powered Robot this T3 Robot harnesses the power of the sun to make your day that little bit more interesting. Unlike the rather cutesy 6 in 1 however the T3 takes a slightly more aggressive stance – once you’ve built it you can turn it into either a tank a scorpion or a standard robot (we’re not sure there’s such a thing as a standard robot but there we are). And if those three different guises aren’t enough for you then well you’re just no fun are you? What’s not to like about a solar-powered scorpion that waddles across your desk like some mechanised arthropod? That’s right – nothing. Being a solar-powered robot or tank or scorpion the T3 requires no batteries whatsoever just a healthy glare of sunshine. Or given the notoriety of our island’s native climate a functioning light bulb. It’s a great little gizmo for keeping on your desk and even better for kids who take an interest how things work. Piecing the thing together in the first place is a rewarding task to complete and once that’s finished the fun really begins. Ingenious design and an eco-friendly message – what could be better for kids and grown-ups alike?

Read by Tony Robinson. `When you start believing in Spirits you start believing in demons and then before you know where you are you’re believing in Gods. And then you’re in trouble. Reality is all very well in small doses. It’s a perfectly conventional and convenient way of neutralising the imagination. But sometimes when there’s more than one reality at play imagination just won’t be neutralised and the walls between realities come tumbling down. Unfortunately there’s usually a damned good reason for there being walls between them in the first place. To keep things out. ; ; Things who want to make mischief and play havoc with the natural order…

How refreshing to have a piece of practical design that’s so incredibly useful. No more creased scraggy maps where you suddenly find that the vital change between the Central Line and the Victoria line is buried beneath yesterday’s lunch remains. Featuring the classic Henry Beck underground map (Zone 1 and its surroundings) the slick steel Pocket Tube Map is the perfect credit-card sized guide about town. Londoners don’t really like being seen glancing at the massive tube maps around town we like to think we know the place like the back of hands cool urban dwellers that we are – except that of course we don’t know London like the back of our hands considering there are 287 stations on the underground so this cool and discrete little map is the perfect key to the city.
