Cult Film
Julian Cope’s highly acclaimed autobiography and its long-awaited sequel in one extraordinary volume. Julian Cope shot to fame with eighties band ‘Teardrop Explodes’ during the Punk era. Hailed as a visionary by those people who recognise his genius and a madman by those who find him perplexing, he has become a cult figure in the music world. Head-On/Repossessed is written in Cope’s own inimitable style and follows his journey through a time of incredible change within the music industry. Head-on is the highly acclaimed autobiography that The Observer viewed as “book of the year” when it was first released. Repossesed picks up in 1983 where Head On ends and continues up until 1989.

Looking remarkably like a small cheap tennis racket this bug batter has a wicked secret. When you turn it on the wires in the head of the racket ‘go live’. So not only does a good swing of the Zapper give your bug a thwack but it also electrocutes the little critter because it’s good to be sure a bug with a revenge kick is not a pretty sight. Now there may well be a Fly Protection League who’ll be up in arms (or indeed proboscis) about this wonderful contraption but we’re afraid that that’s just tough because boy is this gizmo fun or what! Racquet style bug zapper Comes with cover Size: 49×17.5x2cm Requires 2 x AA batteries not included
Price : £ 8.99

The Backwards Clock is a clock that ticks backwards has its numbers backwards and basically does everything backwards. Aside from being a little confusing at first it makes an excellent timepiece for your wall and it really does make you do a double take. It’s an attractive conversation-starter to have in your home and once you get your head around it it will make you wonder why the rest of the world does everything in boring old forwards-time. A super talking point.

So you’ve flown our other RC helicopters stormed the odd makeshift cardboard box base and have managed to get the theme tune from ‘Airwolf’ out of your head – what’s next? Voice Control that’s what! This ingenious Voice Control Helicopter responds to your commands and has five of them loaded in ready to obey your every aviation whim (though when we tried it out it didn’t seem to understand pop into the kitchen and grab me a Hobnob.). Simply pop the microphone set over your bonce (it looks a bit like a bluetooth headset) and get jabbering! You can command your heli-servant to: ‘start its engines’ ‘go higher and lower’ ‘to hold’ and ‘to stop’ once you’ve landed. Saying ‘stop’ in mid-air is not recommended unless you’ve got a very soft head and few pain receptors. Combined with that you can use the remote control to turn left and right and the in-built forward motion will make sure it’s headed in the right direction. From a self-preservation point of view there’s also a ceiling sensor that ensures you don’t have to avoid a falling helicopter as well. To top it all off there’s some cool LED lights and charging it up is super-easy via the handset. For any European friends you might have the helicopter will also understand commands in French or Spanish – clever eh? In short the Voice Control Helicopter is one of the most innovative helicopters at IWOOT addictive and extremely clever.
