I spy with my little eye something I probably shouldn’t thanks to this exceedingly cool piece of spy kit. However much we try and describe it as something that’s not for spy-loving man-children everywhere it’s inevitably geared towards the art of surreptitious surveillance. Hidden in this innocent-looking pen is a camera and video recorder. The video quality is pretty incredible for such a tiny camera it records sound too through a mini built-in microphone and despite its diminutive size it’ll record over an hour of espionage footage. Unscrew the pen to reveal a USB plug which will seamlessly disgorge your spying results and recharge the pen – a full charge will give you about 90 minutes of operation. A Spy Pen Video Camera is only of any use if it actually looks like a pen (so many don’t) and this one is indistinguishable from the real thing. It even comes with three ink refills so it’s perfectly acceptable as your normal work pen. The Spy Pen Video Camera might not make you a spy but all the wizardry inside will make you at least consider a new hat and a pseudonym.
Price : £ 42.55

Steampunk
The sixth marvellous tale of high adventure and derring-do from the master of steampunk literature, set in the world of The Court of the Air. A daring underwater chase ends in a battle for the Kingdom itself! The streets of Middlesteel are under attack by an unseen enemy, leaving bloodless corpses in its trail. The newssheets scream vampire, but the truth is even more deadly than anyone knows. Charlotte Shades, Mistress of Mesmerism, is a thief — and a darned good one at that. When two mysterious men ask her to steal King Jude’s sceptre from the Parliament vaults, the challenge (and reward) is too great to pass up. After all, Charlotte’s natural charm and the magic of the gem she wears — the mysterious Eye of Fate — have never failed her before. Only consulting detective Jethro Daunt and his steamman companion Boxiron know there’s more to these two men than meets the eye. Yet even as they rescue Charlotte from a fate worse than death, they are thrown into a plot thicker than even they realize. They escape beneath the waves in an ancient submarine led by Commodore Jethro Black, where they encounter stiff resistance from the strange people who inhabit the vast underwater kingdoms. But man, woman, seanore and gill-neck alike must band together if they are to defeat a danger that might not even be from this world!

Cult Film
Now over twenty years old, the original edition of Nightmare Movies has retained its place as a true classic of cult film criticism. In this new edition, Kim Newman brings his seminal work completely up to date, both reassessing his earlier evaluations and adding a second part that analyses the last two decades of horror films with all the wit, intelligence and insight for which he is known. Since the publication of the first edition, horror has been on a gradual upswing and has gained a new and stronger hold over the film industry. Newman negotiates his way through a vast back catalogue of horror and charts the on-screen progress of our collective fears and bogeymen, from the low-budget slasher movies of the 1960s, through to the slick releases of the 2000s. Nightmare Movies is an invaluable companion that not only provides a newly updated history of the darker side of film but also acts as a truly entertaining guide with which to explore the less well-trodden paths of horror and rediscover the classics with a newly instructed eye.
Price : £ 21.1
