Clearly the official Amazon covers are not worth the premium. So which alternative to go for? I can speak only for the Duragadget. I have been using it for nearly a month and am very pleased. The case is attractive, tough and gives very good protection for the Kindle when carrying it around in an overloaded bag. All controls are totally accessible. The Kindle will never drop out of the case as there are no elastic grips securing it, unlike some other products on the market. Despite the added weight you can still comfortably hold the covered device in one hand. However I have come to really appreciate the stand. This gives you the alternative of reading hands free. The in-car charger is an added bonus at the price. In conclusion I would recommend this excellent product.

I bought this case a simple way of protecting my kindle from knocks and bangs when out and about. I didn’t want to spend too much so chose this “duragadget” case. I received the case before the release date which was a pleasant surprise to be one of the first customers to get one.
To the case itself, it’s as I’ve said a simple enough thing, nice leather on the outside which is aesthetically pleasing and nice to the touch. The inside is a tougher material which is good as it protects what appears to be a quite fragile piece of electronics. The stand is quite ingenious, the big drawback with reading a book or even the kindle normally is having to hold the thing, with this case you can stand it on your lap, the table on the train or where ever and get a spot on viewing angle by moving the leg, hands free. The magnetic closure keeps everything where it should be, and the cutouts give access to everything you need, including the charge/sync port on the base of the kindle.
The car charger was an added bonus, kindles do have a very good battery life, but its not infinite so a secondary way of charging it when traveling is a great bonus. It also happens to fit my blackberry, which doesn’t have such battery claims!
So to sum up, a simple case that does everything i need it to, no bells, whistles or designer motifs – but this is what i was looking for, and at good value. (about 1/3 the price of amazons kindle insurance and far more useful!)

I have place this order at the same time as my kidle adn it actually arrived before the kindle! which is quite impressive. I am in LOVE with this case lol its got the magnet thingy at various positions of the case to make it multifunctional, to make it stand up with angle adjustment etc etc. Looking forward for the kindle to arrive!

This case is both practical and good looking.
I chose the case because I wanted something I could keep the IPAD in, even when using it as many of the cases seem to be more of a pouch style. It does what it says on the tin!
The stand works reasonably well. My only criticism is that perhaps another catch or popper to ensure the IPAD stays in the case while the IPAD is in use would be good. The single popper serves to keep the case closed and the IPAD in the case, so when the IPAD is in use in theory it could fall out of the case if turned the wrong way. I haven’t done it myself yet, but can see how it could happen and the IPAD could then fall while unprotected.
Great to get a screen protector included – but as always these things are difficult to apply well / without leaving bumps & bubbles.

Hmmm, not much to say except the whole thing was cheap and nasty. Yes i realised bright pink isnt the colour for many people. It wasnt that so much as the fact the qulaity was appalling, pink plastic covered cardboard was not what I expected. To be more adult in my review, the cutout where the stand would rest was not even,the black ribbed lining where the stand was to rest was not lined up straight,the stiching was randomly long and short stiches, the “gold” popper was just plain cheap and nasty looking.
Although it was pink, I am a professional in my work and I could never been seen outside my home with this. To be honest I dont think any self respecting 5 year old Barbie fan could have used this with any aplomb.
