I have a Sony DSC-HX1 and used the Memory Stick Pro Duo while on holiday. Worked just fine and plenty of space for the number of pictures I take.

Its a battery, it does what ever a battery should do.
However,,,,,,,the Price of camera batteries is quite frankly an issue with me.
