I bought this almost a year ago. Just been looking through my amazon purchases and found I had not reviewed it. Looking at the description, the first thing that jumps out to me is that I have not found a front USB on it. The controls for selecting the music from the iPod are really long winded, especially if like me you have thousands of songs on there. You have a choice of sorting by album, artist or playlist. These are in alphabetical order so if you have something in the middle it can take ages. I also find that it locks up occasionally and I have to disconnect and reconnect the iPod which can be a pain. On the plus side, sound quality is as good as you would expect from something much more expensive, as are all the other functions. For the money, it is a powerful unit with many features not normally found on similarly priced units. The IR remote control would also be very useful if you wanted to install this in a caravan or boat, or even mount it somewhere concealed in a classic car where it might look out of place if it were in vision.

A good bit of kit. I had a Sony set already but was fed up with the Aux lead getting in the way – I have a high mounting in the dashboard. Bought this as it has a dedicated iPod lead and am very happy. The sound and features are as good as you wouldexpect from a Sony product. The iPod management system takes a bit of getting used to, but is easy once you are familiar with the controls. the odd thing is the normal screen in the iPod is replaced and youdon’t get the usual visuals. It is easier to push the buttons on the headset than it is to scroll whilst driving – but I imagine that any passengers wanting to search the iPod will be frustrated – well just unplug, select and reconnect…

Very good price, but not totally iPod compatible, didn’t work with my iPod Touch apart from using the normal aux in lead. A shame because that’s why I bought it, although in practical use it would have been annoyingly tedious to have used the display to have attempted to scroll through all the songs on my iPod, so I would have ended up using aux in and the iPod interface anyway.
Good installation instructions, good mw, la and fm reception, and good sound.
Would recommend, but don’t expect too much of the iPod compatibilty!

This is the second one of these I have bought, first went in my defender, this one is going in MGB Roadster. Good quality product, as you would expect from Sony, price and service from Amazon excellent. Only issue with the player is getting used to controlling ipod on the unit, takes a while to understand, once sorted though works fine

This cd player although being under £100 is good enough to compete with some of the more expensive ones on the market it gives a very crisp sound and the ability to be able to connect up an amp further increase’s the way of enhancing the sound
