This BD player is absolute rubbish, its very slow to boot, very slow loading and very slow when ejecting disc/opening disc tray.

USB slot is at the back which is very deep you need to use small ones.

It CAN’T be easily made region free DVD, you have to buy a 3rd party remote to do the hack not like others brand like Phillips.

It doesn’t play anything on the USB, only meant for BD live etc.

Doesn’t even play mkv files not like other cheaper models in tyhe likes of LG.

Don’t buy sony. they are overpriced.

This player is worth []squid, not []+

Hello, I own two of these players which I purchased in America. I haven’t opened them as of yet because they are to be Christmas gifts. I mostly purchase DVDs from here on Amazon.co.uk because I love British Comedy and Drama . Shows such as Last Of The Summer Wine, Only Fools And Horses, Open All Hours and many more make up about 75% of my collection, and I will add more as I can.

I was wondering if anyone here can tell me if the Americian versions I have will play the Region 2 DVDs I have now . I have a progressive Scan DVD player I purchased and re-programmed to play Region 2 , just for my British collection. It, however is not a Blu-Ray and I wanted to keep it as a back up and use one of the BDPS360’s I have because it will up-scale my DVDs and play any Blu-Ray I get. I will leave the Philips model 5140 which I re-programmed for my Region 2 DVDs if the Sony will not play them. I read in one review that the British Version of this Sony ‘may’ not be exactly like the American version. If it would play my Region 2 Discs I can save a lot of space, and cables . If you know and are nice enough to tell me , I would greatly appreciate it.

PS: If anyone here has a DVD player which they would like to re-program to play another Region , 1,2, or all others, just leave a message here in the Comment Section( your player name and model # ) and I will tell them if the player can be re-programmed, hundreds can . You may already own a player which you can re-program in about 1 minute, yourself. I have searched and cannot find out if the Sony BDPS360 can be reprogrammed (american Version ) as of yet( it is still a rather new player, and I haven’t found YET the information I need ), but do know the British version of this player CAN be re-programmed . It cost nothing to make the changes yourself. The so-called ALL REGION PLAYERS which are sold , usually by Market Place Sellers, cost many times the price of the same player and all they do is what you can do in about 1 minute using the remote control.

I would be happy to tell you anything I can to help you . I myself looked for hours for a player for my Region 2 DVDs and know how much I enjoyed being able to take an ordinary player and have it do as the High Priced All Region players do.

Mine’s going back.

The cheap price point has clearly been achieved by compromising on not only features but quality. the S360 looks – and especially *feels* – like one of those cheap unbranded Chinese DVD players, and the remote feels lightweight and plasticky.

The upscaled output from DVDs is no better than other, older DVD players, and the picture quality is nothing to write home about. I have no idea what the blu-ray performance is like – I have several discs on their way in the post, but the player hasn’t survived long enough to play them when they get here – it’s repeatedly freezing and/or locking up when playing DVDs (sometimes playback can be resumed with pressing play, sometimes the player locks up completely and has to be restarted). Not good for something three days old.

Bought one as a present for a friend, as a inexpensive Blu-Ray player, and whilst it’s pretty good value as a standalone, it is rather limited in it’s abilities compared to a PS3 which is £100 more. I was unimpressed by it’s DVD upscaling, which frankly looks rubbish when compared a a PS3, and it’s disk loading times and BD-J performance are also sub-par. Blu-Ray performance is OK, and it does have more outputs and stuff (but does anyone actually NEED them, when HDMI does everything?)

In short, a mixed bag, a good budget player (and much better than the £70 “supermarket” Blu-Ray players), however not even close to the performance and features of a decent Blu-Ray player like the PS3.
