After reading great reviews about the pmx70 i chose to go with the sennheiser sport pmx80 – primarily because i liked the orange colour over the green.i have only used apple headphones, so this was a major improvement. the package came and at first glance, the headphones seem lighter and more nimble than you would think – it really is quite small.however the fit around your ears are amazing. they stay on, but do not cause discomfort by being too tight. At first you will notice how deep the earpieces go into your ears, which was a new thing – but you get used to it, and it really is better. they are a great fit, and when working out, or sprinting for that matter, these wont budge.as for the sound quality, it lives up to the Sennheiser name. Great amount of bass, and though it isnt noise cancelling, it does a pretty good job at that. they put the apple headphones to shame in terms of sound quality.you will not be disappointed with the sound.it really does glow in the dark too, and i’ve ran it under water to clean after work outs, and i’ve had no problems. does exactly what it says it would.the cable is pretty sturdy, and ive onli had it for a week so i cannot see any wear and tear.these are very stylish, and practical headphones, providing you with a comfortable, and stable fit, with great quality sound.i would recommend to any-one looking for headphones that would stay on, athletes especially – they really are water resistant (and sweat resistant…)
great quality product that delivers all that it promises.

Very comfortable for me and sounds great. Perfect for running, really secure. Only drawback is that if you are combining running with weights, you will not be able to lean your head back against a bench while wearing these.
But if you are just ordering them for running in then I would highly recommend them as the sound & comfort were great.

I use these all the time at the gym, for running and for using weights.
Good fit and comfy, maybe not the best for lying down with, but generally good.
Good sound quality, with good volume.
Only Con being they don’t like too much sweat, after a while begin to rust and muffled sound, but keep your receipt as there covered by warranty.

I bought a pair of PMX 80 headphones after my Senheiser PX100 broke. I wanted something suitable for running and with decent sound quality. When the PMX 80 arrived, I tried them on, and was struck by how uncomfortable they were. After a few minutes I was in considerable pain, and developed a pressure sore on my right ear, making it uncomfortable to wear any headphones, not just the PMX 80. The problem with the PMX 80 is that it has a solid plastic head band, which is supposed to fit everyone. Unfortunately I have a large head, although not unusually large, as I have no difficulty buying items such as cycling helmets. Anyway, after a few days of wondering whether to simply bin these headphones, I worked out that I could physically bend the head band until the plastic started to strain. It now has signs of damage. That cured the problem, but why should I damage a brand new product simply to get it to fit? The sound quality is decent, but nothing special, and not up to quality of the PX100. These are far superior to the cheap earphones that come with an iPod or other MP3 player, but they are no match for a Sennheiser PX100, CX500 or (surprise surprise) HD600 headphones. There is plenty of bass, more so than on many in ear headphones costing far more, such as the CX500, but it is slightly muddy. The treble is okay, but distortion is often heard when for example a singer hits the high notes. The sound quality is more than good enough for running, but not for use while relaxing, or working at a desk where more attention is paid to the sound.
The build quality is pretty good as expected from Sennheiser, although there was some flash on the edges of some of the mouldings which rubbed painfully against my ears. (Pain seems to be the common factor with these head phones.) Overall not bad.
The cable is rather long, and hangs down from one side. I found this made it difficult to use these on runs. The problem is that the cable hangs down at the side, where it is knocked by my arm. The result is that I am continually getting my right arm entangled with the cable. Unfortunately the jack does not sit tightly in the iPod, so the slightest knock and the cable comes out. I can fix that by winding the cable around the ipod and trapping it under the case cover. With the PX100 I would hang the cable down my back, with the iPod in a running trouser pocket, thereby avoiding my arm catching the cable. I also find that if the cable runs down by back, it is less likely to catch on anything I brush against while running, such as a fence, a gate, or a bush.
Overall I cannot recommend these for activities such as running. The build quality is okay, and the sound is okay for the price, but they are badly designed and in my opinion not fit to be sold. I might even have a legal case against Sennhesier since they market them as suitable for anyone, whereas they are only suitable for people with smaller heads.
Note added 26 September 2009: Today when getting out of my car, the cable caught on the edge of the seat, pulling the left speaker out of its socket, and breaking the wires. Thus they are now kaput. I’m surprised how delicate they are. I often catch my ATH700 headphone cables on objects, and yet they survive. And it took me 5 years to destroy a PX100. Well, I can’t say I am sorry to have to buy new headphones, given how bad these are.

Without a doubt the best earphones if you’re into running, whether at the gym or outside.
The bass response is outstanding, both in terms of volume and clarity, even with my 5th generation iPod turned up full. The treble, whilst possibly not as good as my CX550 mk II’s is still very good indeed.
But the most impressive aspect for me is the fact that this is quite literally the only pair of earphones that I’ve bought that I don’t have to keep fiddling with, and pushing back into my ears, during a run. They just stay where they are, nice and comfortably, and deliver great sounds. You can’t argue with that!
Is there a downside? Well, possibly… in that they don’t fold up or come with any protection for when they’re not in use. This means that if you put them in your kit bag you should try to protect them from being crushed by your trainers etc.
But that’s a small price to pay…. if you like running, these are pretty awesome earphones and very good value for money.
