Samsung PS42C450 42-inch 600Hz Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV with Freeview
This is model is based on the latest Plasma technology. Samsung have branded their latest installment as series-4. I got this C450 last weekend and am very pleased with it. The best price/performance I think you’ll find at present. I wasn’t looking at 1080P as I prefer as good a contrast ratio as possible and 1080P screens at the lower price point have poor contrast ratio.
I’m not sure what the last review was on about! I’ve never had a problem with Plasma screens and besides the electonics in most (if not all) TVs are shielded to prevent causing or receiving interference. I have a phone line and internet router sat very close to the screen, no problems.

I’ve had this tv for nearly a month and it’s great, takes a bit of getting used to the size of the screen having gone from a 32 inch lcd to this 42 inch monster but the picture quality is amazing, on a par with any 1080p tv even though this is only 720p, I’m also using a samsung blu-ray player and again cannot fault the picture quality and even better you only need one remote control, also using a Bush freesat hd box which I only use for the HD channels and again the picture is excellent as is the picture from the built in freeview. (live in the Granada region so we have no choice) it does take a bit of tweaking to get the picture just how you want it, took me a couple of days to get it just right but it’s well worth it in the end, also the screen is quite refective but you don’t notice this after a while.
the bezel around the screen is a gloss black and slowly turns into a very deep red at the base of the bezel leading down to a large pedistal base in gloss black. the tv itself is on the heavy side as is the base so may need two of you to connect the base to the tv. there are no buttons on the tv, they are all touch sensative and embedded into the bezel to the right hand side of the tv with a red light when the tv is off which disappears when the tv is on. note that the base does not swivel.
People comment on the amount of power Plazma tv’s use but can honestly say I’ve not noticed any difference.
overall a great tv for the price, but would recommend shopping around, seen this tv for anything from 430 quid to £699

The first tele we recieved was damaged in transit but was swiftly collected and replaced and the new one is great. Very happy with it.
