Samsung LE22B541C4 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview
Got this telly over the weekend and very impressed by just how good a white telly looks. If you’ve got white furniture – get a white telly! We’ve got this for the bedroom and it’s just the right size, anything smaller than 22″ would’ve been slightly too small. Straight out of the box the picture’s really quite good but the preset ‘Movies’ for the picture seems the warmest. Out of the box the sound is quite okay, but nothing special though and could do with more bass to it. Still you get plenty of choices for different presets and there’s also an equaliser, so I may have a play around with it. The set up picks up both Digital & Analogue very well and the Freeview menu is quite clear and I can’t fault it – except for one thing, the writing’s too small. If your telly is any distance away from where you’re viewing it then you may struggle to read what it says. While we’re in bed and the telly’s the other end of the room, I’m struggling to read what it says and I find myself getting up out of bed to read it – now that’s a pain! The remote is very intuitive and while I’ve never had to use a Samsung remote before – I like it. All the leads are connected at the rear and there’s no side connecting scart that I’ve read about on other tellys (what’s all that about?), everything’s at the back. I was feeling a bit of trepidation about getting a white telly, but I don’t regret it one little bit. It looks great and that curved red plastic outline underneath the telly seems to go with the overall design and it just somehow works. Apart from the size of the writing on the Freeview menu which is just slightly on the small size, I really can’t knock this telly overall. A very good buy at a very good price.

The slim style of the television is definately appealing and I chose white because it was going in our bedroom which has white furniture, so it is 5 stars for style.
Ease of use: well I found the handbook a little peculiar but once use to the quirky written procedures the set was quickly set-up on both digital and analogue stations.
I found the reception of stations better than our separate Humax digi-box.
The picture is very digital. What I mean is that it is very sharp, the colours are nice and bright but there is a lack of mid range soft colours. To most people that won’t bother them but I am a photographer which means that I probably anlayze pictures more than the average person. I could reduce the saturation to get more subtle tones but that also reduces the bright tones.
Sound. Well it is not as good as the old analogue set that it replaced. Quite simple there is no room in such a slim design to put reasonably sized speakers (perhaps they should be in the stand), so it does sound a little tinny! I did try some separate computer speakers and that certainly improved things a lot.
There are lots of inputs and outputs on the back including optical and computer sockets.
All in all it is a very good set for a second television.

I love this tv, i’m a very visual person, but scored with this one ! Not only does it look stylish, it works a treat, picture is excellent and sound is good. Easy to set up, managed to do it in less than 5 mins.
The first one i ordered did have a fault with it but amazon were great, they sent me a replacement within 2 days, and gave me a month to send the faulty one back. They’re helpdesk were really helpful, and sent me confirmation emails everytime i phoned. I will deff be buying electrical goods again from amazon. I also had to phone Samsungs’ helpdesk got through straight away, and they were really helpful to, that is why i opted for a replacement rather than a refund.

Got it out of the box and was amazed on how good the white telly looks. Like with other reviewers I bought this TV for my bedroom. My main uses were to use as PC monitor and for my xbox.
Setting it up could have not been easier, there were a few hic ups with setting up the freeview channels, however I think I am the one to blame and not the TV.
Once I got everything running I was some what disappointed with the image, I thought the images would be shaper and clearer. I did have a play around with the settings and I found that the ‘movie’ setting gave the best picture. The sound is not the best, but that is the trade off for having wafer thin TVs.
Upon taking a closer look at the advert of the TV, I noticed that it advertised that there are supposed to be 4 HDMI inputs (3 rear and 1 side); so I looked at the connections on the TV and only found 1 HDMI imput. So I instantly thought that Amazon had sent me the wrong TV. I called them up to bring to their attention of this problem, the operator was a bit miffed. He looked at the manufacturer’s description(which is on the main page)and then looked at the techinical details(there is a link to it)and found that the information did not correspond to each other. We also found out the the resolution was not a 1920×1080(like it advertised on the main page) but 1366×768, and there were no USB ports.
Amazon did apologise for the miss leading me and have offered a full refund, which I am going to take. They also said that that they would ammend the advert….but guess what they have not. So for all of the potential buyers out there, please read the technicall details as they describe the specs and ignore the manufucturer’s description.
Overall the TV is a good product, but please be carefull in buying it. Do not make the same mistake as I have thinking that there are 4HDMI inputs, USB ports and 1080p. I am sure there are more descrepancies.
I am only giving this 3 stars so that it can highlight my points, seeing that the other reviews are 4&5 stars.

I bought this TV to go in my bedroom and it is the perfect size. My brother and boyfriend both have the 32″ version (in black) of this Samsung TV, which they chose specifically for gaming, and the smaller version delivers the exact same quailty so I am extremely happy. Haven’t tried out the freeview on it cos I don’t get reception in my area. Standard channels are easy to set up. You get fewer HD ports on this smaller size than on the bigger versions, just the one but I only run my 360 through it so it’s fine for me.
If you’re trying to decided black or white, then it’s just pure aesthetics. My room is pink with white furniture so black woulda been an eyesore.
