Great Budget Home Cinema System,
Ordered this item mid May was a bit sceptical at first cause it had no ratings but it’s great easy to set up and sound is great for the price. DVD player has 108p upscaling which i reckon is actually better than Blu-ray via a PS3. The only issue is that you have to purchase an digital optical cable to link you sky or virgin or ps3 or xbox up to it if you want to hook up more than 1 you need to buy 3 cables and a splitter which I have done can get from Amazon for under £20 from these links http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000BN6LIG/ref=oss_product and http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002VBAZ60/ref=oss_product. Oh and you’ll need to buy a HDMI cable if you intend actually using the DVD player as there is also not one in box. That’s my only gripe why sell an upscaling dvd player without the cable required.
Cable that come with rear speakers are ample for your average sized living room.
All in all can’t grumble for getting such a neat system for under £150.

Great Set Up For The Money,
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this as, at the time of purchasing, there were no reviews I could find on the net for this item. However I thought I would take a chance as I was in dire need of a decent 5.1 surround system with DTS. I have to say, for the money this is a very good system and I am very pleased with it. It was packed very well and very easy to set up with all the speakers and cable colour coded for ease of use.
The system itself is finished in Piano black which on the plus side is very nice to look at but has the disadvantage of being a magnet for dust.
On to the performance. I really only wanted this to play my PS3 through. I had looked at stand alone surround sound systems but they were actually more expensive than this system. It has optical in and plays both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS – however this will not play DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD just to be clear, but will still decode and play regular DTS and Dolby really well. Sound is very good – nice mid range and can be fine tuned via on screen menus. It has a passive sub woofer which is a bonus if you dont have too many plug sockets spare.
Picture wise – this is a very good DVD player with great upscaling (actually better than the PS3 at upscaling). Nice remote control with some glow in the dark buttons !!!!
It has a USB socket on the front which I have heard can take a portable drive up to 250gb.
This system can also play DivX files and photo CD’s
This system will be laughed at by ‘purists’ but if you want a good sounding system with great upscaling capabilities then this is a very good buy. Good choice of inputs enabling you to plug your Sky+, Virgin box, Xbox or PS3 through.

A Great system, highly recommended,
After many hours of searching I decided to go for the Samsung HT-C450, mainly due to the DVD up scaling and optical cable connection capability (to connect to the SKY HD box). After connecting it all up I was amazed with the sound quality. A perfect system for anybody who wants to experience the 5.1 surround sound for the first time.
As previous comments have stated you have to purchase cables separately, I went for (1) optical cable from
SKY > SAMSUNG, (1) HDMI cable from SAMSUNG > LCD T.V. (All dependent on your T.V configuration set up).
I would recommend you take time in the speaker arrangement and try to follow the speaker layout in the manual, I’ve noticed it does enhance the sound quality if you try for the optimum layout as Samsung suggests.
Overall a great looking system, with suburb sound quality. Recommended
