Pimp up your bath with the ultimate in ‘hot’ tub accessories. The Underwater Light Show is admittedly just a little bit bling but we can forgive it that as it transforms your bath at the flick of a switch into a raving disco dance floor – and why oh why wouldn’t you want that in your bathroom! Of course if you’d rather have a more sedate soak then you can chose the more seductive slow pulsing mode. There are five lighting effects in all from a fast random colour changing light show that’s all very Night Fever through a flashing single colour slow seductive phasing through all four colours constant single colour and finally a sequence of all the effects back to back. It looks a little bit like the rose off a watering can but is of course considerably more fun and funky.

In 1998, the Coen Brothers followed the global success of their smash hit “Fargo” with a rambling tale of lies, corruption and bowling in early 90s “L.A. – The Big Lebowski”. It flopped at the box office. But in the years that followed, the movie took on a life of its own, spawning a culture of quotable lines, White Russians and even Lebowski Fest, an annual event attracting thousands of Big Lebowski die-hards. “I’m a Lebowski, You’re a Lebowski (“That’s terrific”) the curators of Lebowski Fest” offers the complete guide to one of the few true cult movies of the last twenty years, with photographs, real locations and interviews with the stars of the film, including John Turturro, John Goodman, Julianne Moore and Steve Buscemi – and a foreword by the Dude himself, Jeff Bridges. The book also contains a glossary, trivia questions and the ultimate soundtrack listing – in other words, the whole Lebowski. “Within the pages of this book, you’ll find out how to order a White Russian like an Achiever, how to react when an Asian-American pees on your rug, how to think like a nihilist, and more. You’ll also read interviews with the real-life eccentrics who inspired the film’s main characters, the actors who played them, and the famous siblings who conjured the whole thing up. We’ll throw ourselves into the mix as well, hopping into our own Dude-mobile (a 1972 Plymouth Fury III, complete with rust colorations just like the movie) to journey around the country gathering interviews and anecdotes. We’ll also reveal our own stories about how we came to love the movie and launch Lebowski Fest.”

Welcome to the world of the sharp-suited ‘faces’. The Italianistas. The scooter-riding, all-night-dancing instigators of what became, from its myriad sources, a very British phenomenon. Mod began life as the quintessential working-class movement of a newly affluent nation – a uniquely British amalgam of American music and European fashions that mixed modern jazz with modernist design in an attempt to escape the drab conformity, snobbery and prudery of life in 1950s Britain. But what started as a popular cult became a mainstream culture, and a style became a revolution. In “Mod”, Richard Weight tells the story of Britain’s biggest and most influential youth cult. He charts the origins of Mod in the Soho jazz scene of the 1950s, set to the cool sounds of Charlie Parker and Miles Davis. He explores Mod’s heyday in Swinging London in the mid-60s – to a new soundtrack courtesy of the Small Faces, the Who and the Kinks. He takes us to the Mod-Rocker riots at Margate and Brighton, and into the world of fashion and design dominated by Twiggy, Mary Quant and Terence Conran. But Mod did not end in the 1960s.Richard Weight not only brings us up to the cult’s revival in the late 70s – played out against its own soundtrack of Quadrophenia and the Jam – but reveals Mod to be the DNA of British youth culture, leaving its mark on glam and Northern Soul, punk and Two Tone, Britpop and rave. This is the story of Britain’s biggest and brassiest youth movement – and of its legacy. Music, film, fashion, art, architecture and design – nothing was untouched by the eclectic, frenetic, irresistible energy of “Mod”.
