Excellent anime with style and substance,
 Â
I own the region 1 release which is identical in content.
After a breathtaking first volume, this instalment, The Hit List, takes a break from the Soldats storyline and lets our damsels of death carry out some “regular” hits, in eastern Europe, Africa and Sicily. It also gives us the first two-parter of the series, and a very good one it is too.
Despite a promise that she would eventually kill Kirika, the two women seem to have become far closer and we start to see how well they work together, even when they still manage to irritate and frustrate each other on occasion. In a way, they have become the archetypal Odd Couple with guns, and the viewer can only grow to like these two despite the fact that they make a living by really quite horrible means.
Unlike most other anime productions, Noir is firmly grounded in reality, and this volume quite bluntly shows that nobody is invincible, a bullet can bring down even the strongest killer just as finally as a sleeping victim. The attention to detail, whether in the backdrops or in the various characters’ weapons, is quite remarkable and clearly establishes the Japanese as the world’s best animators. The soundtrack, also available from Amazon, is another major force throughout the series and even John Williams (composer for Jaws, Star Wars etc) couldn’t have timed it to the action much better. If you like the show, I would seriously recommend getting hold of a copy.
Final Verdict: An anime fan must have this title come hell or high water, this is a top quality show and for the asking price is very good value. Don’t miss out.

Noir… moving and working together.,
Mireille accept to have Kirika moving with her in Paris. They both have an unknown background. They both looking for answers, but if Mireille finds out who Kirika is first… will she eliminate her? As professional assasins they will both continue their killings under their code name <Noir>. (Nikita style)
