Excellent item, used it on a road trip last weekend and I managed to charge 3 devices at the same time: I had a mobile phone & a mp3 player charging using the 2 USB ports together with a Garmin Sat Nav system charging via the 12v socket. Please note that it will NOT charge an iPhone.
Build quality is solid, thick plastic, no rattling and looks like it will last a long time considering the relatively cheap price. There is a small red led light to show it is powering ok.
I’ll try and post a better photo than the standard Amazon one as it doesn’t show the ports very well.
Some specs:
- Charges multiple devices (two USB ports and a single car charger socket).
- Charges all devices powered by a USB charging cable eg. Mobile phones (but not iPhone), Bluetooth headsets, mp3 players, digital cameras etc.
- Intelligent switching circuit to prevent short-circuit and over-charging.
- Input voltage: DC 12-24V.
- Charging output (single socket): DC 5V 1A.
- Charging output (two sockets in use): DC 5V 500 mA (x2).
- Red LED charging indicator.
- Compatibility: All electronic devices powered by a USB charging cable (5V) output.
This charger will NOT power iphone/iphone 3G/iphone 3GS.

We bought this for use with an HTC Hero phone, which is charged through a standard USB lead. It seems to do the job well, and will hopefully work equally well with other USB-charged phones.

The Nexxus Dual-Port USB Car Charger with Car Charger Socket is very handy and works well.

At the price, I did not have high expectations of this, but it is a good quality item and solidly built. I use it for an HTC smartphone (with sat-nav) and my daughter’s DVD player in the car, leaving a spare USB socket. Like this, it has performed impeccably, the only downside being that it makes for a fairly tall protrusion from the centre-console. I can imagine that with all three sockets in use there’d be a fair tangle of cables too. I would wholeheartedly recommend, but do check that it’s not going to get in the way of your handbrake or gear-stick.

Item looked to be decent enough, but when I used the USB port to charge my phone I found that the charger wasn’t supported. It may work for others, though.
