Having read about a fellow customer receiving a non working version and then having to lug it around on holiday I thought that must be a one off. Unfortunately, though the Nextbase comes nicely packaged and with all the leads and bits needed, the one I received today won’t play a thing. Much to the disgust of my 7 year daughter. It’s going straight back.
New ‘working’ version arrived in three days so good Amazon service.

We bought this item the day before we set off to the south of France, setting it up as a nice surprise during a comfort break between home and channel tunnel. We then spent the next 100 miles on the phone to the manufacturer’s helpdesk, and as we drove onto the shuttle the fact that it didn’t work at all was finally conceded by Nextbase as ‘terminal’. Great. Spent 3 weeks driving around with boxed up item in boot. Got home. Sent it back. Got refund. The one thing all of this proved was that the kids were actually perfectly OK without it, although we had Joseph on the CD player the whole time by way of recompense.

I’d read quite a few reviews before buying this product and looked at quite a few similar models. I bought it for my Grandchildren who travel quite a long way to come and see me. It was in fact the reviews that swayed me towards buying it. I was not disappointed. Excellent value for money, easy to assemble and use as well as being neat and compact. I would recommend this product to anyone.

This was a replacement for the previous set in which the DVD player stopped working on the second use. In this set the second screen went blank on the second use. A bit loath to try again although its such a neat set up I am tempted. Not sure if anyone else has found reliability a problem

Really pleased with this portable Twin DVD player, and they achieve exactly what I bought them for – two happy children on a long car journey. My child who often gets car sick has actually never been sick whilst watching these which is interesting and a bonus.
Very easy to set up, and user friendly, and can be either battery, mains or cigarette lighter powered for in the car. You can skip straight to the disk menu, so get started nice and quickly but even better is that the DVD player has a ‘play resume’ feature meaning it knows where the DVD stopped before you turned off the power (i.e stopping the ignition at a service station). Also has a remote control so you can in theory control from the front of the car without twisting round into the back to do.
Only MINOR gripe is that there are a few too many wires for my liking, but they are necessary to link the two screens, so what can you do other than spend loads more money on some sort of wireless system – if it even exsists?
Overall delighted and excellent value.
