I bought this for my husband so that he could have a portable speaker system to use with his iPhone. Last year I had bought him a beautiful Altec Lansing speaker (Altec Lansing – inMotion T612 Speaker System) to transform his iPhone into a stereo. Though this speaker produces a gorgeous top quality stereo sound, it is heavy and bulky. I wanted him to have something we could take on holiday or he could take out to his workshop. I wanted something that could actually charge his phone while it was docked, was reasonably robust and would not require his phone to be put into airplane mode to work. The Logic3 WIP015K i-StationTTV Portable Sound Dock for iPhone/iPod really fit this bill. It charges both my husband’s iphone (3GS, of course) and my original iPhone, but also handles my son’s first generation iPod nano. It expands to hold the iPhone horizontally for movie and video viewing. The unit feels well built, but is light and compact enough that we will travel with it. The sound quality is not quite like our Altec Lansing speaker, but as long as you don’t run it at full volume it doesn’t produce a bad sounds, either (I’m pretty picky about sound quality, our home system is Bang and Olufsen).

I’m very happy with this purchase…
Pros:
- Good sound quality
- The dock swivels to use landscape mode on iPhone/iPod Touch
- Small & stylish
- Mains or 4 AAA batteries. Good battery life too.
Cons:
- The power button is fairly unresponsive & takes a few presses to light up.
Addendum: 22 June 2009. This item has now almost stopped working all together. The volume and power controls only work when the iPod Touch is disconnected – obviously this makes it very difficult to adjust. Ended up not having it docked at all but using the in-line connection but now that has stopped working correctly -. I’m sending this back to Amazon
- The volume toggle doesn’t give enough control, jumping in large increments.
- The unit won’t work if both batteries & power adapter are in. – irritating if you are listening to a song and want to put it back on the mains – it cuts out.

i bought the logic3 i-station and i was i little surprised at the size because it did look a little bit bigger in the picture in the add, but i was very very surprised at the sound out of it when i docked my i-phone 3g in to it, the sound was not to bad at all infact very good for speakers so small and the swivvel to horizontal to watch video is a great idea,and it charges the iphone without being turned on only has to be pluged in to the mains of course, also you can put aaa batterys in the station and then it becomes totaly portible, and its able to take on mp3 players aswell as it has a jack plug sockit in the back, so portible,great sound,mains and battery,turn the iphone/ipod touch,ipod nano on its side to watch video, charges iphone/ipod,looks good, what more can you ask for great little speakers A1…………………..

I bought these speakers for my boyfriend as a present…I spent hours looking for the right one’s, he’s very fussy!!I saw these and although they aren’t a well known brand like BOSE etc they are brilliant! The volume is great, they can easily be played outside for a party and be more than loud enough. I was pleased that there were the different adaptors for each ipod as I have an ipod nano and he has an iphone so we can listen to both. The great thing too is we can watch the song videos in landscape because of the clever twist part! All in all I am very very happy with these and would most definately recommend them to anybody! A real diamond bargain!

I was looking for a compact, portable docking speaker system for my iPod Touch 2G that I could easily move around and take on trips abroad. Having had to return a product purchased elsewhere that proved barely compatible (despite information to the contrary), I found this neat little Logic 3 WIPO15K here on Amazon which does everything I expect it to and was considerably cheaper.
The sound – for me – is perfectly adequate for a kitchen, bedroom or standard hotel room and it not having a remote control doesn’t unduly bother me. I also considered the similar, larger Logic 3 i-Station for it’s more powerful sound output but I’m certainly happy with this considering my basic requirements. I also didn’t really take into account the clever rotating dock at first but I can certainly see the advantage now – especially for watching the odd film (and it looks good just playing music). It nicely charges my Touch when running on the main adapter and, although I don’t envisage doing so very often, I also have the option to use it fully portable on 4AAA batteries.
I was quite taken with the neat Ktec mains adapter supplied. It came with tidy snap-on EU and UK plug fittings and the very-nice-people at Logic kindly sent me a USA/Asia one that gives vastly added functionality without having to use one of those ugly plug adapters. As the mains adapter input voltage is 100-240volts, it can be used just about anywhere in the world so perhaps Logic should really consider including all three plug fitting as standard.
All in all, I consider it a very good, fully functional purchase – although a protective travel case would have made it absolutely spot-on.
