Brilliant picture and sound,I wanted built in Freesat and having researched the various makes that had Freesat built in I decided that the LG model was the best value for money, and it does not disapoint!. The various options for picture and sound are very good and work well. HD programmes are unbelievably detailed on this screen. One thing I was concerned about was output from the TV to my DVD recorder, this is the only let down as far as I am concerned as the TV has to be on to record to a DVD/VCR and also the channel you want to record also has to be on, this means that you cannot watch another channel whilst recording. This aside I have no regrets in purchasing this model. Well done LG!

This is the first time I have reviewed a product on here,

I was originally off put by some of the reviews regarding its compatability with the PS3, It almost made me choose a different TV,

However I decided to go with it, PS3 works absoultley perfectly on my TV with a regular Bush HDMI cable I purchased, Blu ray and games are perfect and no probs with the menu screens,

Installation, Very easy to do, I switched it on with ariels and LNB cable connected, it scanned for all the freeview and Freesat channels available,

Sound, Very good quality,

Freesat, I had a dish already from old sky subscription I used to have, so I just connected the wire and let the TV scan for freesat channels, It will also scan for other non freesat channels that are FTA,

HD,

BBC HD looks amazing, ITV HD also looks amazing, it is a shame there are not more HD channels on Freesat yet, There is also a channel called Luxe HD which is more of an advertising channel but again excellent quality,

I love the tv, and have had no problems at all with it,

I would recommend it

LG is one of only 2 manufacturers that currently market HD TVs with built-in FreeSat, the other being Panasonic which costs about twice as much (prices for the LG vary considerably, so shop around – Amazon was the cheapest when I bought mine). The picture quality of this HD TV is not as good as my Sony LCD, but is acceptable. The on-screen Electronic Programme Guide is quite sluggish to scroll between channels which can be frustrating as you’re often not sure whether you’ve pushed the button hard firmly enough or if the TV is just thinking about your ‘request’. However, I feel that the TV is good value for money compared with the Panasonic equivalent, and it’s certainly convenient not to have to buy a separate satellite receiver. As more FreeSat TVs enter the market, LG will have to up their game a bit to compete. I haven’t used the TV with PS3, so can’t comment on the compatibility issues mentioned by other reviewers. Promptly delivered from Amazon as ever.

This TV is excellent value for money and had a really vibrant and high contrast picture. I’m dependant on satelite for receiving a signal and found that the Freesat is very good and easy to set up. Movies look great and HD content is crystal clear. Having read reviews I wasn’t sure whether the picture brightness may jump around but I’ve not seen any of this happenning so am extremely happy with the picture quality.

Connectivity is great too, with the USB allowing me to see photos (again, amazing picture clarity from my Nikon D40 photos) and will connect using ethernet cable when iplayer is released on freesat.

The one drawback I would say is the sound quality from the built in speakers. I put DVDs etc through my sound system so this doesn’t bother me but if you are depending on your TV to deliver good base and an all round full sound then I’d look elsewhere, if not then I’d highly recommend this TV.

This telly seems to be fine for what I want it to do, which is mostly to watch programmes recorded on a Humax freesat box. The fact that the tv has its own freesat tuner means I should be able to watch one channel while recording two others (when I connect a third cable to the LNB on the dish). It set itself up with no problems when connected to the newly installed Sky dish. The users manual is informative and sufficient. I have not bothered with the CD that comes with it. Amazon’s delivery service was good, as always. One small niggle is the buttons on the remote. They are a bit small, but I’ll get used to that, I am sure. So… a satisfied customer.
