Jawbone Prime Bluetooth HeadsetÂ

- NOISEASSASSIN 2.0. Jawbone has been able to eliminate real world noise better than any other headset because it is the only headset that can accurately separate speech from ambient noise
- Jawbone PRIME has even better background noise elimination than the previous generations
- NoiseAssassin┢ 2.0 delivers an order of magnitude improvement in the noisiest environments (6 to 9dB) extracting even more noise while keeping the user’s voice natural
- Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD) provides a fail-safe mechanism when the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) doesn’t touch your face
- When the VAS is not touching the face, Jawbone PRIME performs as good as or better than any other noise cancelling headset. Also when the VAS touches the face, you get the turbo-boost to the NoiseAssassin performance
I’ve used this for a month now and I can confirm that the sound quality is excellent. In fact, sometimes it’s so loud that I’ve used it in a medium sound setting.
Once you get used to the controls, it’s not too much of a fumble to navigate using the hidden buttons. I don’t know if I’m born with ears that suit the headset, but I use it without the hook (I wear glasses) and it has never fallen out.
The voice quality at the other end seems to be great too, but one person has suggested that the total lack of background sound makes me sound like I’m calling from a bathroom.
Battery is poor however, but that’s pretty much the case with all bluetooth devices I’ve used so far.

“The display box is almost over-the-top. Solid feel, nice display, and matches the stylish headset very well. Be sure to follow the instructions for opening it, though. I had a little trouble yanking the headset out. Had I been a bit more patient, it would have been a lot easier! ”
Really? all i got was a cheap cardboard box with a printout of the product on it glued to the box actually now that i look at it closer, not Glamorous at all, nothing like when you buy it direct from Aliph.
“Using a more snug fitting ear-piece would most likely increase the volume significantly” All Ear pieces Kept the jawbone from staying in my ear, the meduium was too big to stop it pinging out and the small was too small to keep it in. The Leather Looking loop was too big and the MInimalistic loop was too uncomfortable to wear. All in all not a great start.
Lets Move onto the Charging. Earpiece kept falling off the charger even tho it was magnetic, ended up having to stick it in some Blue-tac jsut to get it to charge.
Sound, Beautiful, crisp Clear and amazing quality both ends, if only i could keep it in my ear long enough without having to reach up and ram it back into my ear to continue the conversation.
Phone Compatibility, Horay, guess what, it decided to Sync with my phone’s Audio. Now to me that says anything the phone does noise related at all should go through to the jawbone correct? Wrong! Media plays Through the phone, Outgoing Calls After ringing twice, finally decide to let the bluetooth take over and you can finally talk to someone who has either answered and then put the phone down or you go straight through to their answer machine after 1 ring on the headset. Incoming Calls- and the headset seems to not want to pick them up, press the answer button on the phone, bluetooth connected and all but it decides no it will jsut sit there and waste battery while the phone blurts out a mutter of hello from the person on the other end of the phone, that i cannot pick up and talk to directly because i am driving.
Now as Much as the post seems completly biased and like i am out to get the jawbone prime i must assure you it is not, i absolutely love the design i always have of aliph’s headset’s, unfortunately they just dont seem to want to work and jawbones customer support like to refer me to sony and sony back to jawbone so at the end of the day i’m pretty much screwed and have wasted my time waiting for something that will not work with my phone.
Thumbs up for the dsign and look of the headset
Thumbs Down for the help with/and compatibility of the jawbone itself.
This is a post i made in relation to someone else’s review, it’s my thoughts on the product
All i can finish saying My review with is if you have a Sony Ericsson X10, X10 mini, X10 Pro or a Vivaz, do not bother buying one of these it will not work properly.

I bought this having seen reviews of previous models of Jawbone and wanting a headset that I could use in the car and still sound intelligible (I’ve had several headsets that make me sound like I’m at the bottom of a deep well).
Initially everything was perfect – the Jawbone looks well made, was easy to fit out with several ear buds and an ear loop/hook. I charged it up, switched it on, paired it straight away to my iPhone 3G and started making calls. Call quality was excellent and battery life was ok, nothing startling but with a fast re-charge that was not too much of a problem. The noise cancellation was simply the best I have found. However within 3 weeks I hit problems – without warning the headset started to give a low battery warning and then switch off even though it showed fully charged when placed on the charger. I contacted Amazon and they duly sent me a replacement and requested return of the faulty earpeice. The replacement was up and running within minutes as before and all seemed fine. This time the unit lasted 2 weeks before it developed a fault – it would charge, switch on as normal and then simply switch off without warning and not switch back on. A couple of days later it failed completely. I contacted Amazon again who will now only offer a refund as they suggest that there may be an inherent fault with their batch of headsets. What a shame as if it was reliable it would have been perfect for me even if it was much more expensive than most other headsets I could have chosen.

It’s tiny but mighty! Definitely glad I bought the black for my Man, it’s more masculine than the other colours!
Sits in ear well and audio sounds great in both directions.
