I received this Griffin ITrip this week in the post from Amazon and it is brilliant. I have only used it locally but the signal is really clear and it is so easy to set up – and I only ever read the instructions if something won’t work the first time! At the click of a button it scans, saves three preset stations, you set up your car stereo to one of the presets, switch on your Ipod and away you go. It saves the frequency so if you preset the frequency on your car stereo it is really easy to start up again when you get back in the car. I love it and would definitely recommend it!

This item performs well and transmits a clear signal. The smart scan is a good function however it does scan every time you turn it on which can be irritating especially if you program your radio to one frequency. However it does store your stations so you can find the previous frequency through the menus. The cable is of good length and allows enough length to put your ipod in the glove box/seat/dash. It also looks quite smart in a shiny piano black.

All in all a good purchase and i would strongly recommend it.

I am a bit of a techno phobe these days and hadn’t got a clue what I was looking for. As it was a present for my husband I wanted to be sure it would work. There are some terrible products out there, I am told. Delivery was swift and packaged well. It did exactly what it was supposed to and in seconds. Love it. Went from Midlands to east coast & didn’t have to touch it once.

Found this device very easy to use. Once plugged in, press one button and hey presto! the strongest free frequency shows up on the surprisingly clear display (despite it’s size). Could benefit from some double sided tape, or better still Velcro on the back of the display so that you can attach it to a suitable place on the dashboard. Currently it just dangles from the iPod looking a bit unsightly! Took mine on a long journey and sometimes (especially in built up areas) the signal did get a bit weak and the volume and clarity drops with the sound of other radio stations trying to muscle in. I just pressed the button again and re tuned to new frequency and everything was fine. I’m interested to find out the range of the iTrip because if you are travelling in two separate cars, you may be able to use the one device for both vehicles if you travel close together? It just means the people in the second car will have to put up with your choice of music!

So to sum up; for the price this device is great value for money, especially considering what a car manufacturer will charge to fit an iPod adaptor as an option. Have recommended this to many of my friends.

Does what it says on the tin but I can do a better job of finding a free channel with the car radio and then setting the transmitter to match it. The instructions make it quite clear how to do this. The scan does work but driving between say the Midlands and Yorkshire I have had to stop and re-scan or manually find a free channel.

Once on a free channel the sound quality is pretty good – things do get a little noisy once in a different area.

The leads are plenty long enough and look to be good quality
