One comment to the first ‘5 star review’ puts this device at around x8 magnification. I would put it even lower: it is certainly much less than my 10x – and I should have reliased it was a con as I have never seen a 30x loupe (I thought my 20x was unusual enough!).
Also note that there is also a 20x chrome loupe advertised here, and I bought one of each and found them both from the same ‘Triplet’ brand and both only a tiny fraction of the power described. This is an offence under the Trades Description Act.

This product I suspect, is not as good as advertised – not up to it’s ’30x Magnification’ anyway.

I was rather disappointed by the product. Although it does magnify it is too small for what I bought it for. When I saw the picture I thought it was much bigger than it appeared but it is too small for me

I have no technical knowledge as far as magnifiers are concerned and just bought the loupe to help my amateur interest in identifying ferns. I needed the loupe to magnify the sori/spores. In practical terms at least, my estimation would be that the magnifying power of this loupe is far far less than indicated in the advert for it. Probably nearer two or three times than thirty. Very disappointing.

Lovely little item; it’s only a loupe, but it’s x30, nice and tidy; promptly delivered. Full marks.
