You will be given an overview of the disciplines and history of falconry by one of the country’s best falconers, followed by a brief introduction to the husbandry and welfare of birds and the equipment used in falconry. Our expert falconers will demonstrate the skills required to handle the birds themselves and discuss the importance of breeding and conservation to help species in the wild survive. In the afternoon you will head off into the countryside for a unique afternoon’s sport. Programmes vary depending on the location. Selected Monday – Sunday dates, typically all year although some centres only run September to March. How long does the activity last? Your activity will last for approximately 5 to 6 hours. You need to know You must be at least 16 years old and under 18s should be accompanied by an adult. General fitness is required for this activity as there can be a lot of walking involved. Some locations hunt the birds during the afternoon, therefore it is not suitable for squeamish people. No previous falconry experience is necessary. You and how many others?
