1st thing you realise when you receive this is that its no lightweight item. Its a solid piece of kit.

Heres a few points i found different to standard scart leads:

-Thicker cables + a plastice sleeve which probably is there to protect the cable. I have clearly noticed the difference on my set. The thicker cables transfers pictures better, there is no crackles on screen

-Solid connector: Golden metal connector very solid, doesnt look like mine will ever break even if it fell on the floor. The only issue was the screw caps which where plastic, had to tighten them. The caps do not interfere with the cable as its just an extra piece of security to secure the gold connector to the cable.

Hope this review helps. I do believe good value as i did my research like you are doing right now ;)

This is a superior quality lead that has improved the standard definition picture quality from my Humax Freesat Box.HDMI is fine for the high definition programmes but this scart is better for non hd.Excellent lead at a bargain price !

Don’t get ripped off on the high st where you can pay £50+ for a scart lead. This gives good reception with no interference and cheap too.

I bought this to replace one of those cheap SCART cables that comes bundled with devices. Honestly, why bother supplying a decent quality RGB device with such a shoddy, blurry cable that breaks as soon as you move it?

Anyway, the quality of this cable is superb – crystal clear sound and picture, can’t ask for more from the old SCART standard. Flawless.

Problem though; the connectors on either end, while very well made and surprisingly attractive, are a little smaller than your standard SCART leads. I couldn’t really tell from the picture on the item, but if you have a device with a couple of sockets next to each other you might have trouble getting a snug fit. Indeed, if you’re trying to put this next to even a standard size connector, it might not fit.

The freeview box I bought this for has, for some reason I cannot fathom, an extra chunky adaptor right next to the RGB-enabled SCART out, while the second one is CVBS only. So I really had to ram it in there, probably not good for either cable. Then I had to move the cables around on the back of the television as it wouldn’t go into slot 2, and slot three is a CVBS SCART, so into slot one it went and it still doesn’t sit as tight as I’d like.

So bear this in mind; if you have tight form factor devices where all the rear panel connections are tight, this might not be the best cable to purchase. The quality is top notch, the construction sturdy, but those smaller-than-average connectors were a foolish oversight.
