I had previously ordered a Belkin car charger USB adaptor but found it to be too long to actually plug into the car charger. This one is good because it’s much shorter and will fit the more compact car cigarette lighter ports. It’s not a 100% perfect fit, sitting proud slightly, but I honestly don’t think there is a more compact adaptor and because of that I’m giving it 5 stars, afterall it’s doing what it’s supposed to do

I used to use a car charger for my Ipod Touch with the wires built in.But if pulled to hard the connection inside used to brake on the solders, resulting in the charger not working.So this time i went for this type of connection, so i can use the Ipods USB cable instead.
Now dont get me wrong its the best product to use IMO BUT, when i plug it in, it doesn’t connect up properly inside the barrel of the cigarette lighter in the car.The LED light goes on and off when you wiggle the product(can be very fustrating at times).When it finds “the sweet spot”, the light will stay on if you dont touch it again.Other than the connection being abit dodgey at times in my car(a Honda Integra), i love it and i would recommend this to friends etc.
Would of given the full 5 stars if the connection was perfect.

I’ve been looking for a reliable charger for general USB equipment, mainly for my Blackberry, but especially for latest gen ipods which have not worked with my 2 previous USB chargers. I also wanted to avoid having a different charger for each gadget (including my SATNAV). This slim device does the job perfectly. All I need now is 1 Charger and a couple of cables.
I considered the slightly cheaper Belkin equivalent but read lots of reviews claiming incompatibility issues with different car brands. I opted for this one as I when I travel and use hire cars I want to be sure that it will work. So far so good. I hope not to be disappointed when I go abroad this summer.
So far, I can confirm that it works on a Honda CRV (new version) and Audi Q5. Supplier delivered promptly on promised date.

Perfect fit in my Honda Civic 05, charges my iPhone 3GS and other USB devices I’ve tried. Now a permanent fixture. Charge rate on my iPhone is around 1% per minute of charge.

This small charger fits perfectly in first generation Mercedes A-Class (W168). The design is tapered at the end so should fit most cars. Neat flip up handle makes it easy to remove. It is fairly flush fitting so does not interfere with the ashtray lid. Works well for charging ipods but I have not tried any other devices.
