Begginer’s camera? I couldn’t disagree more. Does almost everything my £200 canon compact can do including face detection and is just as good quality. If you want even more control then why are you using compacts?
Bought two of these for my children in a sale and very impressed indeed. Definately not children’s cameras so they are very lucky indeed. I am not a novice camera user and own SLR’s as well as compacts.

I bought this camera after seeing it recommended by a camera reviewer. He was right, this camera is easy to use and takes great pictures. the software that comes with it for uploading and editing your photo’s is not the best I have used, but you can easily use one of the better editing packages instead. The camera itself is great and has lots of features which those interested in that sort of thing will enjoy using

Don’t know anything about cameras but purchased the Canon powershot A480 recently. It ticks all the boxes for me and is all i need.Bought it because of the name Canon and good reviews. It was a good price at the time but had a wait for delivery(2 wks).Everything works as it should and optical zoom is good,i would recommend it.

Very good camera, but difficult to find way around it without the full User Manual. Although it is on the CD Rom, it is not convenient to go to a computer every time you want to try something new, so had to print out all 128 page of the manual.

A good budget Camera. Not the smallest. Takes disposable batteries, not a problem if you have a seperate charger and rechargable batteries. Most budget cameras seem to do this now.
