Apple iPod MB770G/B Earphones with Remote & Mic

Bought these for my ipod but only found out once i’d got them that they don’t work with all ipods, i.e. the controls and mic bit. They are however, supported on ipod classic, but not the 80GB (the one I have) but are supported for the 120G classic. They are supported on ipod touch, and the iphone but there is no mention of support for other models. Hope that helps.

Can’t review the functionality of the microphone, or the controls as wouldn’t work on mine, but the sound quality is exactly the same as the standard plugs that come with the ipod and are the same shape when fitting inside your ear.

My own fault that they weren’t compatible as I should have read a bit more about it before purchasing. Just giving others the heads up as I don’t think it’s particularly clear or obvious that the 80GB classic is not supported.

The most important thing to accompany the Ipod has to be the headphones , anyone with an ipod touch knows you cant really on its speakers at all . So without these the music cant take you away from the boredom of the outside world , having had these headphones for two years I can definatley say they are standing the test of time.

===Sound===

Whats a pair of headphones without a good quality sound , these do the job. The ipod headphones have very good clarity and the individual instruments can easily be picked out of the track.

Music doesn’t become distorted when cranked up high , although turning the music up to full strength shows that these can almost be used as external speakers.

Now other speakers do perform better , In ear heaphones and higher brands such as seinhesser and bose provide better quality, but seeing as these are the base pair to come with the product they are very good.

===Durability===

I listen to music everywhere so its important that the heaphones can stand up to a bit of rough treatment. In the two years since having them these have been sat on , trodden on , layyed on and even trapped under numerous things. All unintentional of course , but does it have any battle scars , no way. In fact the only damage occured a few days ago when I noticed the grey rubber around one of the earpieces was coming off and also that the plugs white covering was fraying, not bad.

===Look===

The apple earphones are probably the most iconic headphones you will see , the white design is a status symbol for music lovers everywhere and show that you have a bit of qauint , simple style.

The length of the cord fits comfortably between the length of your trouse pocket to your ear, and the heaphones have a small rubber peice which can be pulled up to keep the headphones close together. However , notable of any headphones of these type they are prone to twisting and knotting.

The earpeices are white with grey rubber bottoms , coming with a handy R and L on their respective ear peices although I dont quite understand why , I have tried them in the “wrong” ears and didnt notice any difference. Answers on a postcard.

It has a regular headphone jack so will be fit to use with laptops and other mp3 players too.

===Mic===

The microphone is good quality and works well with the recording fucntion on the ipod touch , a dream to use with skype app.

===Remote===

Simple and easy to use , another great little feature added to the earphones. Holding down the center button allows voice control for 3.0 ipod touch and iphones , meaning you can control music whilst it is in your pocket !
