This Samsung player looks beautiful, but it has two very serious flaws: the audio and video playback via HDMI are badly out of synch (a problem highlighted I now see in the CNET user forums) and it has a very noisy fan. Samsung UK technical support were extremely unhelpful and could give no view on whether or when the audio synch issue might be fixed (e.g. by a firmware update), so I’ve reluctantly returned the unit. My first ever return to Amazon, and maybe my last Samsung product purchase.

Great looking DVD player, slim and very stylish, HOWEVER ….
I and many other customers have had to send there player back as there is a lip sync issue when playing blu ray disks. I have contact Samsung and they are aware of the problem but have not done anything about it, I sent mine back and got a Sony and it works brilliantly.
So avoid this model until they have fixed the issue. (if you are not sure just google Samsung BD4600 lip sync issue) and you will see a CNET forum with many many complaints.
Poor from the usually high Samsung.
Avoid it

Samsung BD-P4600 – 1 star due to the excessive fan noise which is constant when the system is powered on, i.e. not in stand-by. Looks great though, but ruined for me by the constant noise of the fan. Item has subsequently been returned.

item arrived when it was meant to, looks fantastic and the picture quality is fantastic the upscaling is brilliant makes and dvd look good. the only one problem i found was when you connect the stand it makes quite a bit of noise as soon as you take it off, not a bit of noise, i did notice that on other reviews that there is noise from the fan its not the fan but the drive taking the stand off fixes this problem. would like to mention doesnt come with an HDMI cable or the wireless connection.
would advise connecting to the net via wire and updating the firmware straight away.
overall excellent item, samsung do need to do something about the stand issue though.
would advise buying this item.

Great machine. DVD upscaling looks a treat and you can compare this by hooking its HDMI and its DVout at same time to your TV. HDMI shows colours and detail not visible in SCART or DVin.
PC streaming is neat, its a doddle. I wish the player would remember the pc credentials though as you have to type it in each time you connect it to the pc, this is not the DNLA feature, I’ve not examined that yet.. Firmware upgrade over Internet was childs-play.
MP3 playback is great, found no issue. Files are found via folder browsing, so its not like an MP3 player. When images are in the same folder you can run them as a slide-show while playing the music.
My only gripe is that it as it turns on with a disc already in, it tried hard to play it even though you may want to use PC streaming or play an MP3.
