Bought this for relatives birthday. Read quite a few bad reviews and to be honest, don’t know what they were using but this little gadget is amazing!!

Alright, if you’re a budding movie producer and want video footage that is second to none then this is probably not for you, you’ll need your normal camcorder BUT to pop this in your pocket when you’re out and about to catch those moments you normally wouldn’t have a camcorder on you it’s brilliant. Good price, quality fine for what it’s use was intended for and think everyone should have one!! My relative takes it everywhere now….going to order one for myself

A great new toy. Great picture quality and idiot proof. Simply connect to computer using built in Flip USB and start creating your own movies and cards. I love it because it is so easy to use and fits into the smallest of handbags. It runs on AA batteries which last for hours (approx 5hrs). Very discreet (not too in your face) which allows you to film anywhere. The perfect gift.

I was bought this product for my birthday and boy did I love its simplicity. Being able to capture those spontaneous moments that you would inevitably have missed with more complex camcorders.

I have discovered a major flaw in this product however.

After using it for the first time ‘in-the-wild’ at my mum’s funeral to capture a record of all that attended that day, I discovered that although the Flip was in a neoprene protective case hung from the belt loop of my trousers, the screen had been damaged.

I did not expect the accidental damage to be covered by the warranty but did expect the screen would be able to be replaced.

How wrong was I!

Not only is the screen not reparable or replaceable but the two other major components, the fold-out USB arm and lens aren’t either!!!

I now have a dead Flip with the only option I have is to buy another!

If my wife or I had known this before it was purchased we would have not have gone anywhere near it as we couldn’t take the chance of damaging it on any one of our usual holidays of camping or skiing.

All I can say is do not buy this product if you intend to use it in a situation where it may be subject to any potential impact.
