This a brand new Global TV link suitable for extended remote control operation of Sky Digi boxes. This is the Sky approved type of magic eye.
This unit allows the remote control of a Sky Digi Box, Sky Plus Box or Sky HD Box from another room in your home.
This unit works due to the clever TV Link feature fitted to all Sky digi boxes. At the rear of the receiver you will find an RFOUT2 connection. If you connect a long male to female coaxial cable to this connection and feed it to another room then you can you can connect the TV Link unit at the remote end of the cable. The TV Link connects in between the aerial plug on the cable and the aerial socket of your TV. You can then use the Sky remote you already have or an additional handset to change channels and fully operate the Sky box. This avoids you having to continually go through to the room where the Sky box is located to change channels or select playback on a Sky Plus box for example.
How does this work?…………… The TV Link unit effectively operates as an extended infra red receiver that is already fitted to the front of your digi box. The TV link sends the infra red commands form your Sky remote control back up the coaxial cable. These commands are received and actioned by the digi box. In order for the TV Link to operate it requires power and this is cleverly fed down the coaxial cable from the digi box internal power supply.

Originally I had one of them wireless transmitters which worked brill to my bedroom but since moving that received really bad interference from several wireless hot spots in the area and changing the wireless channels didn’t seem to do anything to sort it.
So bought one of these. Works an absolute treat and the IR receiver on them are fantastic picks up the remote almost any angle and place in the room!
Easy to install and only requires the RF2 output on the Sky box to be powered on in the services menu.

Using this neat and very well priced gizmo I can now (to the annoyance of my partner) change Sky HD channels from a different room. My full setup allowed for a new coax cable (CT100) to be run from the Sky HD box to the second TV which has proved flawless in operation. It is not routed through any other equipment and doesn’t have to be plugged into the second TV aerial output (main picture and sound is through a seperate HD lead) – thus freeing this outlet up for the terrestial aerial input. You do have to follow the instruction as you must enable the output on the Sky box but in doing so product performed straight away.

This product was value for money. I followed the instructions and it worked immediately. I have got rid of my multiroom and now can watch my recorded programmes in the bedroom from my sky+ box in the lounge. Don’t look anywhere else for this product.

This product came down very quickly but had no instructions with it. I only knew how to use it by looking on the internet for advice/instructions. When I found them it took me 2 seconds to install and start using.
