After owning many rubbish cheap own brand irons that just did not make any difference to even a t-shirt, i decided it was time to invest in a decent iron. I did actually order another model of iron but received this one and thankfully it was a better model than what i ordered (ordered from another company NOT amazon) and i am soooo glad i received this model.
I spent my evening enjoying ironing my entire wardrobe infront of the tv (im 22). It is powerful, has enough heat/steam settings for different fabrics, easy to use/fill, it even has a velcro strap on the cord to keep the cable tidy after use. It doesn’t spit and has an anti-calc function that they recommend you do every two weeks – havent tried yet but it looks simple enough. All in all i cannot recommend this iron enough! If i HAD to find a fault with, it is a tiny bit on the heavy side but it is not so heavy that it makes ironing a chore. For this reason i would rate it 4.9/5. Comes with 2 year guarantee.

A “Which Best Buy” iron and therefore, the reason I bought it compared to a Bosch one, also Best Buy, as the Bosch one required filling of the water rather often. Well, so does this one if you want decent steam. It’s a great iron – it is heavy but you do not need to press down hard as a result. The iron itself does a great job but when the reservoir is 15% full, it lacks steam power – so there is water in the iron but it does not give as much steam as it does when there is more water in it. This is the reason it is given 4 stars but otherwise, a great iron that is easy to fill, easy to use and gives great results.

I am thrilled with this ! I have never had a really effective iron but I have now. I read and quite rightly trusted the reviews on Amazon which is why I selected it after my still new BOSCH iron packed up after a poor performance. The Philips iron is heavyish but easy to move and you don’t therefore have to exert much pressure. It heats up really quickly, is super hot and has a long lead. I have never really enjoyed ironing before but this iron flys through the pile easily. The steam is really effective and the iron is easy to hold and handle. It holds a large amount of water. Very highly recommended. I am really pleased with this pproduct and would buy again although I am hoping it will last for a few years unlike the last iron I bought.Go for it! Mrs A. Pearce. Glos.

I’m not a natural ironer – only on demand ! – but both my husband (who has to iron all his work shirts as he’s very particular about them) and myself really like this iron. It’s easy to use and although I would agree that it’s heavy, it has a good feeling of “solidness” and the weight does not get in the way of the job. The sensible length of cord and velcro tidying strap are a real bonus and unusual to find these days. We are happy we followed the other reviews and recommend it !

We kept putting off buying a new iron until we really had to and wished we had bought this sooner. It is in a different league to our old iron. It is a pleasure to iron with and gives excellent, effortless results. I even ironed our douvet cover the other day which I would never have done before. It makes light work of horrible items to iron.
