Well, i’ve read all the positive reviews here which made me go for this product with closed eyes. I’ve got mine today and tried it immediately as i am going abroad in a few days. The result was disappointing.
If u wana hurt your back, buy this scale. u left ur bag or whatever and you start waiting for it to peep so that you can know when it is time to put it down and see the reading. But with this scale, the option of peeping is not available and all you have to do is hold the scale with the bag up near to your face so that you can either see the reading from the screen or the word HOLD which tells you that you can now put ur bag down and relax. Again, the reading will also disappear in a matter of seconds, so u have to be quick in putting ur bag down and catch the reading before it vanishes. If you missed the reading, you will have to go through this painful process over and over.
Regarding the bag, it is not a bag at all. it’s absolutely a piece of flimsy cloth. I got it torn as you can see it in the attached image.

Last year I received a No More Excess, Advanced Digital Luggage Scale from
my husband. It worked perfectly but my cousin has since `borrowed’ it!. I
therefore needed another scale. I bought this one because it is advertised
as coming with a free carry bag and looks the same as the No More Excess
scale.
Mine did not come with the free bag, which is bad. How can they advertise
giving a free bag when it does not have one?
Having tried the product, it is not the same quality as the No More Excess
model and it does not have the beeper function, like the No More Excess. On
the No More Excess the beeper sounds when the scale has got the reading,
letting you put down the luggage. Not having the beeper function will drive
you crazy! You stand there for ages weighing your luggage but you cannot see
when the weight has been held because the LCD display is in the wrong place
and it doesn’t have the beep to let you know when you can drop it.
It’s called a 2010 model, but the No More Excess I bought last year was more
up-to-date than this one. Avoid this product.

I totally agree with the review by A. NAJAA “Five5_Sences” (UK) above.
I also ordered this item based largely upon the existing reviews and also visually, it also seemed a nice looking gizmo.
However, I was very disappointed as the item is not user-friendly, unless you wish to weigh something relatively minimal that you can lift to eye level.
As the reviewer NAJAA above stated, it it impractical to use as it takes a while to ‘settle’ and display the weight. However, there is no “beep” to notify you, so you are humping anything between 23kg to 32kg…hands shaking at the weight…waiting for the reading to calibrate and give a reading. Meanwhile, it had already displayed “Hold” without you realising, displayed the reading, and started recalibrating again. In the end, I had to lift opposite a mirror and get ‘some idea’ of the reading. This is bad for anybody’s back unless its at the lower end of a weight scale. This is designed to weigh 50kg. It is a shame that such a lovely product could have been let down by the inclusion of either a beep….or the reading being “locked” once ‘hold’ has been displayed.
Not even worth commenting upon the “Free Carry Bag” which is only marginally stronger than tissue paper.
I have had to now buy the Balanzza Ergo Digital Luggage Scale instead [ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Balanzza-Ergo-Digital-Luggage-Scale/dp/B001MBU6IW/ref=pd_cp_kh_2 ] which meets the functionality that is practical.
This “2010′ 50kg is now gathering dust on the shelf as I had unfortunately disposed of the box otherwise I would have returned it.
In my case, it was a waste of money.

I travel by plane about (at least) 6 times a year – I am a student, but I live in a different country to where I study. I, therefore, wanted to buy scales for a long time and finally did that just a month ago – these scales were exactly what I wanted: fairly inexpensive, accurate (scales in the airport showed the same weight) and convenient to use (belt is so much better than a hook you can find in some scales). True, it is not always easy to hold the luggage steady enough for a long enough time, but if your luggage is 15-20kg, or less, these scales are perfect!

It is a very good product and it does its job, the only downside of it, is that the handle is made out of metal so it hurts your hand if the suitcase is heavy.
